Charles I (1625-1649), Third coinage, Intermediate issue, Twelve Shillings, mm. thistle-head (at end of legend on obv., above crown on rev.), single lozenge stops on obv., reads mag britan fr et hib, 5.80g/9h (Murray pl. iii, 20; SCBI 35, 1458-9, same dies; B 21, fig. –; S 5559). Slight creasing, nearly very fine, rare £200-£300

Provenance: Bt Baldwin March 1982
A single pair of dies was used for this issue which, while using many of Briot’s puncheons, especially for the reverse, shows the same style of bust as that on the first signed issue of Falconer. The bust is most unlikely to be the work of Briot and was probably made by the die-sinker Charles Dickesone working in co-operation with Briot before he left the mint in 1638. Dickesone is the most likely engraver of the coins signed by Falconer who, unlike Briot, did not produce his own dies.

Within the UK
If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.
Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
