A carved Pine framed Oil Painting on canvas, laid on canvas, probably late 18th c. or early 19th c. depicting a valley near an imposing castle, a figure standing under the boughs of a tree with a lute at it`s feet being approached by a dove of peace having just wounded another figure in the foreground, 35 1/2`` x 43 3/4`` approx. paint losses, severe discolouration from smoke/fire damage, tears, patches and uneveness.
