Description
A pair-cased, verge, fusee pocket watch, c.1780, the 36mm white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, the gilt movement signed "Willm. Ross - Cork" (fl.1764-1817) and numbered 218, the backplate and balance cock exquisitely engraved in the Irish rococo style with 'ho' bird and serpent and raised on round pillars, enclosed in signed gilt metal dust cover also numbered 218. In white metal pair-case.
