A silver cased, fusee, lever pocket watch c.1889, the 48mm white enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, signed "John Forrest - London", the gilt, full-plate movement inscribed "Chronometer Maker to the Admiralty", enclosed by a gilt metal dustcover signed "John Forrest - London" and numbered 11551, the silver case numbered 11551, hallmarked for Chester, 1889 and maker's mark 'AHR' for Alfred Henry Read.
In fine (F) condition, the case-back dented, the hinge strained but closes firmly. Runs freely.
