Description
A Redware gourd shaped pottery vase with central band of foliage on a plain ground raised on a circular foot bearing three indistinct touch marks to the shoulder 18 cm high, a similar Redware pottery jug 9.5 cm high and a pair of black glazed pottery vases with similar foliate decoration to the shoulders 21.2 cm high
CONDITION REPORTS
Both red pieces have significant chips to the rim and pouring spout as well as bases on both. There is pitting / small flakes missing to the glaze on both. Both black vases have had significant repairs/ restoration at various points in their lives, including bases and rims, one has a hairline crack running down the rim as well. Both have a “bloom” to the black finish as well as areas of red. One has some lose bits in the base - unable to get to but rattle when moved. One is stamped “PD” to the body. All pieces have general wear and tear as well as the above to include small chips, scratches, firing faults etc. See images for more details.
