A pair of 19th Century Chinese Imari bowls or ice pails under glazed in blue over glazed in oxide red and gilt flanked by stylised mythical beast mask handles (formerly with rings) raised on a circular foot 17.4 cm high x 22 cm diameter
CONDITION REPORTS
Both bowls are extensively damaged and repaired with Victorian staples, the first with chipping to the rim and large crack all the way through. Gilding worn in several areas. Rings to handles missing. The second with large crack around the rim and various chips. Rings to handles again missing. Require sympathetic restoration. See images for further detail.
