A Charles Vyse pottery figure of The Balloon Woman, the young Romany with rosy cheeks and green earrings, a pink scarf around her neck, dressed in a purple shawl and colourful striped full length dress with a yellow edged apron, holding an armful of brightly coloured balloons, on faceted base, 22cm h, painted monogram CHELSEA and dated 1922 . In fine condition with no damage or restoration; some marginal oxidisation of the purple enamel on the shawl nearest to the balloons mainly at the back but this is more likely to be a small production flaw and in any event is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the appearance. (See lot 67 for illustration).
