oil on board, signed, titled label verso framed and under glass image size 39cm x 39cm, overall size 62cm x 62cm Note: Frank Colclough was born in Wick, Caithness and lived in London before settling back in Scotland in 1975. He originally worked as a design draughtsman while studying art at Camberwell Art School and worked as a professional artist since 1981. All Frank Colclough early contemporary paintings were in watercolour, but over recent years he worked in acrylic and oils. The inspiration for Frank Colclough paintings stems from his admiration of the Scottish colourist movement. This is reflected in his paintings which consist mainly of marine views of the Scottish West Coast and colourful still life studies. Frank Colclough contemporary paintings appear in many private and public art collections. The RSW, RGI and RSA have also regularly exhibited his work. Frank was a frequent, popular and very successful contributor to The Scottish Contemporary Art auctions from 2008 for many years.
