ARTIST STATEMENT: After studying life drawing for my A level art I continued to look into body language and how posture can convey emotion the arched back is a sign of anxiety stemming from in battle trying to protect internal organs. I found this posture fascinating as it could be seen as unnatural when looked at from this angle becoming hard to visualise how the body has been posed. I found reference for this image was really interesting in how the light flowed around the body highlighting muscles.

Collection and payment:
Buyers can collect their purchases directly after the auction closes between 7.30 and 8pm on Wednesday 29th November at St. James Concert Hall in St. Peter Port, or from 11am onwards on Friday 1st Decebmer from the Sovereign Group’s Guernsey Office at Frances House in Sir William Place. Accounts must be settled before taking possession of the artwork purchased. Payment by credit or debit card please.

Auction bidders are welcome to attend the Sovereign Art Foundation Students Prize Awards Evening at St. James Concert Hall on Wedesday 29th November 5.30-7.30pm where the auction will close and artworks will be available for collection by buyers.

The artists receive 50% of the auction proceeds with the remaining 50% going into the Sovereign Art Foundation (Guernsey) Bursary fund
