A Jumbled Guernsey Skyline - Ziggy Pearce
A Jumbled Guernsey Skyline - Ziggy Pearce
Pen sketches on paper, backed on board 523 x 614mm Framed
IMPORTANT CONDITION OF SALE FOR THIS LOT: This piece forms part of the artist's GCSE portfolio and must be retained by the school until October 2023. The purchaser of this piece will be given a framed replica which will be exchanged for the original once this is available. The replica will be produced following the sale of the piece, and may take up to 14 days. ARTIST STATEMENT: Taking inspiration from current and historical architecture around the island, I created lots of these small sketches, focusing on texture and the buildings' traditional details. I wanted to present them as a combined piece, so I assembled them with this interesting layered effect. I think this brings the sketches to life, by adding some shadow and a third dimension. ABOUT THE ARTIST: This piece is Shortlisted in the 2022 Sovereign Art Foundation Students Prize in Guernsey. Ziggy created this piece aged 15 while a student at Guernsey Grammar School.

Winning bidders should note that all lots will be sold subject to their reserve price being met. Reserve prices vary for each individual piece and are set by the student artist. The Sale Room system will keep your bid to a minimum amount which may not meet the reserve price and result in a sale, please contact SAFGuernsey@sovereigngroup.com if you would like your current bid to be raised to a specific level. The Sovereign Art Foundation advises students to consider setting a reserve price of £80 for their work.
This auction is being run under the supervision of Martel Maides Auctions and by taking part you will be bound by their general auction terms and conditions, available at www.martelmaidesauctions.com. In addition, please note that several pieces in this auction form part of a student’s active GCSE or A Level portfolio and the original must remain in the possession of the school until the examination has finished.
