A £6,500 spend limit has been applied to this auction. Bidders intending on spending above this amount will need to provide photo identification to have the spend limit removed. To help manage this, you will be asked to confirm your projected spend as part of the auction registration process. You may receive a request to provide photo ID. We ask that you provide this at your earliest convenience on request, to ensure you are free to bid above the £6,500 spend limit on sale day . Please note it is Lyon and Turnbull’s discretion to ask for identification – you will be also asked to provide this if you have no bidding history.

BUYER'S PREMIUM

The buyer shall pay the hammer price together with a premium, at the following rate, thereon.
26% up to £20,000
25% from £20,001 to £500,000
20% thereafter

VAT will be charged on the premium at the rate imposed by law (see Conditions of Sale)

Please note successful bidders on The-Saleroom also pay an additional online premium of 5.94% (inc VAT)

REGISTRATION

All potential buyers must register prior to placing a bid. Registration information may be submitted in person at our registration desk, by email, by fax or on our website. Please note that all first-time time bidders at Lyon & Turnbull will be asked to supply the following documents in order to facilitate registration:

1 – Government issued photo ID (Passport/Driving licence)

2 – Proof of address (utility bill/bank statement).

We may, at our option, also ask you to provide a bank reference and/or deposit.

By registering for the sale, the buyer acknowledges that he or she has read, understood and accepted our Conditions of Sale.

PAYMENT

Our accounts teams will continue to be available to process payments and answer queries. We will be able to accept online payments through our website and bank transfer.

Payment is due within seven (7) days of the sale. Lots purchased will not be released until full payment has been received. Payment may be made by the following methods:

Account details are included on any invoices we issue or upon request from our accounts department.

CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS

Payment can be made by Visa Debit, Maestro, Mastercard or Visa Credit cards.

ONLINE CARD PAYMENTS

We do not accept card payments by phone. Please use our online payment service (provided by Stripe). You will find a link to this service in the email invoice issued after the sale or you can visit the payments section of our website.

CASH

Cash payments up to £5,000.

CHEQUE

We no longer accept payment by cheque.

These Conditions of Sale and the Saleroom Notices as well as specific Catalogue terms, set out the terms on which we offer the Lots listed in this Catalogue for sale. By registering to bid and/or by bidding at auction You agree to these terms, we recommend that You read them carefully before doing so. Special terms may be used in Catalogue descriptions of particular classes of items (Books, Jewellery, Paintings, Guns, Firearms, etc.) in which case the descriptions must be interpreted in accordance with any glossary appearing in the Catalogue. In these Conditions the words “Us”, “Our”, “We” etc. refers to Lyon & Turnbull Ltd, the singular includes the plural and vice versa as appropriate. “You”, “Your” means the Buyer.
