Carved, gilded and polychromed wooden tabernacle door. Early 16th century.The interior of a double domed shrine with columns at both sides decorated with vegetation motifs frames the image of two angels holding the Holy Chalice (an example of 15th century Gothic precious metals and jewelsmithing), with the Sacrament. The angels are richly dressed in layers which are held together with a jewelled brooch. Provenance: Private collection. Catalonia. It has been in the same collection since the early 20th century.Flaws and woodworm holes. 75 x 57 cm.
