Jan Spanjaert (Amsterdam circa 1590 – later than 1664)“Interior of a tavern”Oil on panel. Signed with the logo IS. 39,5 x 52,56 cm.Spanjaert worked in Delft between circa 1632 and 1634. His work has different subject matter as he specialised in tavern interior scenes, being identified with the initials IS. A very similar painting to this is kept at the New Hope Historical Society collection in New York. Provenance: - Auction at Sotheby's Amsterdam on14/05/2002, lot 62. – Private collection Barcelona.
