"Saint John". Carved, polychrome wooden sculpture. Romanesque. 13th century.
The saint is dressed in a green tunic and reddish cape which falls in pleats from the shoulders. Facing forwards, giving blessing with his right hand whilst the left hand holds the Holy Scriptures. The delicate work on the face, framed with ringlets of hair, is outstanding.
It has lengthwise crack.
Height: 78 cm.
