Description
Wrought iron standing lectern. 16th – 17th century.
The post of the lectern is supported on a tripod of curved legs, and decorated with discs, a central vase and a baluster. On the corners the lectern is decorated with shapes crowned with stars. In the centre there is a Grecian cross with a fleur de lys pattern. It is worth noticing the presence of this cross, as it was a feature of various military religious orders of the time, which leads us to believe that the lectern was made for one of these military orders.
151 x 50 x 50 cm.
