Wooden chest with tortoiseshell, ivory and bronze incrustations. 17th century.
Composed of a central door in the shape of a pavilion flanked by two bronze caryatids which frame a ivory plaque with pyrography scenes of the Immaculate Virgin Mary. Above is a ivory pyrography frieze of scrolls and a plaque of Saint Francis. The decoration is outstanding as are two deep drawers at each end of the cabinet which have their own ivory plaques of pyrography caryatids.
In the centre of the upper rail is a painting of the Immaculate Virgin Mary on copper.
The original handles are preserved. The table is from the same period, but not its own.
Chest measurements: 118 x 100 x 36 cm. Table measurements: 79 x 124 x 39 cm.
