Castilian walnut wood cabinet with iron fittings. 17th century. With 19th century bas reliefs sculpted in bone.
Unusual cabinet, enhanced in the 19th century with copious bas reliefs sculpted in bone, decorating the interior and exterior of the cabinet. In the interior of the three doors reliefs can be found that represent Justice, Temperance and Fortitude, three of the four cardinal virtues. The rest of the reliefs portray scenes of putti and nymphs. All of these are very finely sculpted.
The stretcher is decorated with bone reliefs.
Cabinet measurements: 89 x 83 x 52 cm.
Table measurements: 65 x 101 x 45 cm.
