Description
Impressive gilded cast copper ciborium, engraved and decorated with dark blue, sky blue, lapis lazuli, green, red, turquoise, white and yellow champlevé enamels. 13th century. Decorated with leafy scrolls and four medallions with angels on the base, four on the top cover and four on the lower part. The cross on the top is a later addition, from the late 19th century or early 20th. The bolt is missing. There are small faults in the enamel.
The ciborium is a cup in the shape of a chalice which is used to keep the holy sacrament in.
