Oil on board. Signed and dated in 1873.
Strecker was a painter and sculptor who was born in Austria and lived in Germany. He studied at the Ernst Julius Hähnel Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. He was awarded a German National Prize grant and spent three years in Rome. In 1880 he returned to Vienna. In 1904 he was awarded the "Kleine Goldene Staatsmedaille" medal. In 1919 he founded the Künstlerbund Wachauer.
