"Bishop". Carved, gilt and polychrome sculpture chiefly in orange, ochre, green and black tones. Pyrenees region. Gothic. Circa 1400.
Seated in a frontal position, with his hands held out, the left holds a crucifix which has not been preserved. The bishop wears a beard and a mitre carved from precious stones. He is wearing a priest’s habit which falls to the floor forming deep and wide folds, typical of the Gothic style. Some restoration work done to the polychrome.
