Ellis Dullaart vom RKD, Den Haag, bestätigt die Eigenhändigkeit dieses Gemäldes anhand einer Fotografie, wofür wir ihr danken. Sie datiert es in das Frühwerk des Künstlers und vergleicht es stilistisch mit der 1628 entstandenen Komposition, die sich im Norton Simon Museum befindet (Inv. Nr. F.1970.15.P, Öl auf Holz, 28,6 x 39,4 cm).
