Description
Ming dynasty, 16th/17th century, depicted seated in lalitasana, wearing a crown centering a depiction of Amitabha Buddha and flowing robes which drape over the display surface, overall: 13.75'' H x 9.25'' W x 6.75'' D, est: $20,000/30,000 Note: All bidders wishing to participate in this auction session must submit a $9,000.00 USD deposit via wire transfer, cash, or cashier's check prior to the auction. This applies to all floor bidders, absentee bidders, phone bidders and internet bidders, without exception. If you do not have a deposit with Moran's, your bids will not be accepted by the auctioneer. Registration deposits made on the day of sale must be made via cash or cashier's check, in person. Provenance: Estate of Andrew F. Chandler. Condition: Not including hanging robes: 12.25'' H. Overall good condition, with general scattered scratches, scuffs, nicks and wear to gilding commensurate with age. Scattered spots of fill to bronze verso likely dating to time of manufacture. One .5'' crack to base of seat verso, one minute crack to crown and a break to interior crown element. Repaired break to foliate element on left side of crown.
