Depicting the bodhisattva Guanyin with 1000 arms, gouache and gold paint on paper laid to canvas, painted image size: 84'' H x 39.75'' W; silk fabric frame size: 89.5'' H x 46.5'' W, est: $10,000/15,000 Note: All bidders wishing to participate in this auction session must submit a $9,000.00 USD deposit via wire transfer, cash, or cashier's check prior to the auction. This applies to all floor bidders, absentee bidders, phone bidders and internet bidders, without exception. If you do not have a deposit with Moran's, your bids will not be accepted by the auctioneer. Registration deposits made on the day of sale must be made via cash or cashier's check, in person. Provenance: Estate of Andrew F. Chandler. Condition: Overall: 94.5'' H x 50.25'' W. Scattered creases, wear, thinning paint and some losses throughout. A 16" vertical repaired tear in the lower center. Minor discoloration in the upper quarter. Silk borders have likely been replaced.
