A Japanese Satsuma vase, Ryozan, Yasuda Co
First half 19th century, signed in gilt Ryozan (Nakamura Tatsunosuke, d. 1841), and with Yasuda Trading Company red and gilt cartouche over gilt Shimazu mon, the short circular neck over a waisted hexagonal body on a circular foot, decorated in gilt and polychrome enamels with two panels, the first depicting bijin observing men unloading cargo beside a pier on a shore, the second depicting a pair of herons and blossoming cherry boughs, and with a brocade pattern to the shoulders, 9.75`` H x 4`` Dia., est: $600/800
