An Italian porcelain plaque Madonna after Raphael
Early 20th century, Florence, Italy, printed red mark ``Firenze`` beneath a fleur-de-lys, impressed ``150`` and inscribed ``150 R/ 1287``, with paper label of Florentine frame maker ``A. Signorini`` affixed to cardboard backing, of circular outline, depicting the ``Madonna della sedia`` (or ``Madonna della seggiola``) after Raphael, within a square pierced carved giltwood frame, the plaque alone: 5.5`` Dia.; overall: 11.25`` H x 11.25`` W x 1.25`` D, est: $600/800
Provenance: Property from a Private Collection, La Jolla, CA. Condition: Overall good condition. General marks and scratches commensurate with age. Porcelain with rubbing to surface overall.The frame with two losses to carving on the right-hand side and one minor loss to lower left corner, and with rubbed wear revealing red bole, and typical minor shrinkage cracks that do not affect stability.
