A Chinese export gilt-lacquer tea caddy
19th century, rectangular, decorated to each side and the hinged top with scenes of figures and buildings within foliate borders, opening to divided compartment fitted with two pewter canisters with carved ivory floreate knops, together with key, 4.25`` H x 9.25`` W x 6.5`` D, est: $400/600
Provenance: Private Collection, South Pasadena, CA. Condition: Overall good condition. General marks, scratches and rubbed wear commensurate with age and use. Wear to decoration of lid and end panels fairly heavy. Three chipped losses to exterior- one.25`` to front edge of lid; one.5`` to rear right corner of lid, and one.5`` along bottom front edge. A.25`` chip to rim of lid interior. Scattered additional minute chips. Lock does not appear to function. Your bid indicates acceptance of our Conditions of Sale. AS-IS. ALL SALES FINAL
