HEPBURN KATHARINE: (1907-2003) American Actress, Academy Award winner. A.L.S., Katharine Hep, one page, 8vo, n.p., n.d. (c.1975) to Pepi Lenzi. Hepburn writes 'What an experience in maintaining one's own & the “general” equilibrium' and adds 'I'm sure that it's been very character building for all of us - and I hope you know how grateful I am to you for your affectionate attitude……Congratulations. You helped me a lot'. The letter was evidently originally sent with a gift from Hepburn to her correspondent, the actress writing in a postscript 'For your enjoyment!' and accompanied by the original envelope hand addressed by Hepburn and with a holograph note to the verso, 'If you hate it, change it'. Hepburn and Lenzi worked together on the American western film Rooster Cogburn (1975), the actress portraying Miss. Eula Goodnight opposite John Wayne (in the title role) and Lenzi employed as first assistant director.
