LUMIERE AUGUSTE: (1862-1954) French Pioneer Filmmaker, along with his brother Louis. An attractive D.S., `Lumiere´, twice, one page, Lyon, 15th April 1896, in French. The large partially printed document, bearing the A. Lumiere & Sons attractive printed heading to the left border, being a signed cheque by Auguste Lumiere, made payable on 15th June 1896 to Monsieur Guesquin, photographer of Menton, for the sum of 34.05 Fr. The document bears a large number of ink stamps, tax stamps, cancellations and countersignatures to the front and verso, including a second signature by Auguste Lumiere to the verso, beneath the Lumiere & Sons ink stamp. Very small overall age wear to the edges, otherwise VG £200-300
