DUESENBERG FREDERICK: (1876-1932) German Automobile Designer and Manufacturer. Scarce T.L.S., Frederick Duesenberg, one page, 4to, Indianapolis, 4th January 1928, to an unknown correspondent ('To whom it may concern'), on the printed stationery of Duesenberg Automobile & Motors Co., Inc. Duesenberg writes a letter of reference for a former employee, stating, in part, 'Mr. Harrison Spencer was in my employ for the most part of two years in engineering and drafting which required superior ability through urgent problems of mechanical design… he has unusual originality and inventiveness… adhering to the best standards of design and engineering practices… and his services rated the highest degree of excellence both as to quality of work and time required.' Pin holes to the upper left corner and light dust toning, otherwise VG £800-1200
