MONTEFIORE MOSES: (1784-1885) Baron Montefiore. British Banker, Activist and Philanthropist. He was elected Sheriff of London 1837-38. Rare A.L.S., Sir Moses Montefiore, one page, 8vo, Ramsgate, Kent, 10th July 1868, on his private printed stationery, to Mr. Lloyd. Montefiore, in the third person, states in full `Sir Moses Montefiore presents his compliments to Mr. Lloyd, and will have the pleasure of giving his proxy for the November 1868 Election at St. John´s School in favour of "W.A. Armstrong" in compliance with Mr- Lloyds´ request.´ With blank integral leaf. Very lightly affixed to a slightly larger card. Extremely small areas of paper loss to the integral leaf edges. F to G £400-600
