MILHAUD DARIUS: (1892-1974) French Composer. A.L.S., Milhaud, one page, 4to folded aerogramme blue paper, Oakland, 17th October 1964, to Emmanuel Bondeville secretary of the French Institute, in French. Milhaud explains to his correspondent having read in the newspaper Le Monde his appointment and states `I can then and now send my deep congratulations to you,… you are going to enjoy a rather beautiful home. I did visit it time ago when I accompanied my teacher Widor after a conservatory day, and I was dazzled by such a magnificent building..´ The aerogramme bears to the front an ink stamp with Milhaud´s address in Oakland. Extremely small tear due to the envelope opening, otherwise VG £80-100
