Description
ROSCOE WILLIAM: (1753-1831) English Historian, Banker, Art Collector and a leading figure of the Abolitionism. A.L.S., `W Roscoe´, one page, 8vo, Lodgeham, n.d., to W. Rathbone. Roscoe explains to his correspondent the reason why he will not be able to attend a meeting and states `..It is my intention to address a few lines in the morning to yourself, Mr. Hodgson & Mr. Cropper which may be read at the meeting if thought advisable.´ With blank address leaf, bearing a red wax seal in fine condition to the fourth page. Very small area of paper loss to the address leaf due to the opening of the letter. VG £150-200
