Wellington: an unusual oval pottery drainer attractively printed in blue with a scene depicting the Duke and his generals on horseback in the battlefield, circa 1828, 310mm wide * Probably manufactured by Jones & Sons of Hanley (1826-1828) who are recorded as producing a ‘British History’ series including a print entitled ‘Battle of Waterloo’ for which a large dish exists printed with this scene and entitled such upon the reverse.
