Anonymous sale, Sotheby's, Mak van Waay, 18 November 1985, lot 57, with illustration. 

Catalogue note:
The view depicts the Muiderpoort after reconstructed in 1771, two years after the dramatic collapse of the earlier building. The works were supervised by the city's architect Cornelis Krans, and the programme of monumental sculpture was carried out by Antonie Ziezenis (see B.Bakker, 'Amsterdam in de achttiende eeuw', 1974, no.26). The summer version of the subject was offered for sale at Christie's Amsterdam, 6 May 1993, lot 23, with illustration.
