This work is derived from a painting by J.J.Horemans-I in the Vienna Kunsthalle. Jan Josef Horemans the Younger made portraits and genre paintings and painted in the manner of his father Jan Josef Horemans the Elder. The artist was also strongly influenced by the French Rococo movement. His signature hardly differs from his father's signature, therefore his paintings can only be recognised because of the difference in style; a more sensitive treatment with a lighter colour pallet.
