Important Information
Herman’s is excited to announce In Flux, an exhibition that will take place in our new gallery space this coming March. In addition to the physical exhibition, selected works will also be offered in an online auction, providing artists with the opportunity to sell their pieces.
We invite established and emerging artists to submit works that explore the themes of change, growth, and transformation. In Flux will be an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing shifts in Irish identity, culture, and society, while also engaging with the broader transformations shaping the contemporary art world.
The exhibition will bring together works from Irish modern artists—whose practice emerged in response to the social and political upheavals of the early 20th century—with new works by contemporary artists. This dialogue between past and present will reflect the evolution of Irish art, focusing on formal shifts (such as the transition from figurative to abstract art) as well as thematic concerns that have evolved in response to Ireland’s changing political and cultural landscape.
The concept of flux captures the essence of a nation in constant transformation. Ireland has undergone tremendous political, economic, and cultural changes over the past few decades, and this exhibition will highlight how artists have both reflected and shaped those shifts. We want to showcase works that respond to the flux of our time.
