Literature: ‘Jack B. Yeats, A Catalogue Raisonne of the Oil Paintings’ by Hilary Pyle, No 883, Vol II, which states:

A marvelous image of a juggler in the dark street, gyrating bottles in the air. A horse and rider, seen in the foreground – enhanced, like the juggler’s torso, by the light breaking through the smoky dark blue atmosphere – turn away from sight. The oil looks back to the watercolour of 1899, The Street Juggler (Pyle Watercolours, 178)
