Description
Russian Model 1912 Officers Nagant Revolver Holster, brown leather holster with the original leather securing strap and brass stud. Two large belt loops to the reverse. Under main flap is the small additional pouch. Some crazing and wear but generally still good condition. The M-1912 Nagant Revolver was carried by Imperial Russian officers during WW1 and into the Russian Civil War period. This item was captured in Germany and was possibly war booty by a German officer in WW1, only to be taken again as war booty in WW2. This item was brought home from Bavaria, Germany, by Harold Holdren Jr, from Pickaway County, Ohio. He served from 1944 with the 771st US Tank Battalion. During his service he was stationed mostly in various areas of Bavaria, until his return to the USA in August 1946. It was during his time in service that he acquired this and other souvenirs which are listed in this auction. Items have been consigned directly by the grandson of Harold Holdren Jr. A full write up of his military career will accompany this lot.
