A small grooved chest with drawer, cedar (or juniper), grooved decoration filled with black mass (gall nut) "Various animals among flowers", inside of the cover with "Fleuron" decoration containing monograms/ownership marks inside, pigeonhole with cover inside, iron mounts, Portuguese - Azores, 16th/17th C., missing original socle, drawer redone, minor faults and defects. Notes: this type of chests was studied in FERRÃO, Bernardo - "Mobiliário Português - dos primórdios ao maneirismo - volume quarto - Anexos". Porto: Lello & Irmão - Editores, 1990, pp. 7 to 35, reproducing several copies. This specific copy differs in that it has a drawer., Dim. - 36 x 82,5 x 37,2 cm
