AC: Eight sales brochures for Two-Litre models, late 1940s-1950s, comprising five for The New AC Two-Litre, another for Saloon models, two for Sports Tourer, and a sales sheet for Four Door and Five Seater Convertible. (9) Footnotes: The 'British Sales Brochure Collection', from The Estate of the Late David Rundle (1940-2021). (Lots 172 -290, also see Lots 158-166) David Rundle (1940-2021) developed an all-consuming passion as a schoolboy in the mid-1950s, aged 14, for motorcars and motoring. Over the years, he would attend motor shows and other motoring exhibitions, visit dealerships and other motoring contacts, gradually building up, over more than seven decades, a considerable collection of sales brochures and related sales ephemera covering a wide range of mainly post-War British marques, from the immediate post-War era up to the 2010s. David's career and experience as a Senior Fire Officer in the London Fire Brigade, and his strong affinity for public service, widened his knowledge and interest beyond motorcars to include Fire Service, Ambulance, emergency and other public service vehicles, buses, coaches, taxis, vans, trucks and commercial vehicles from mainly British manufacturers, as part of the collection. Such was his passion that David was featured in a 1989 episode of Top Gear, at the front of the queue at a motoring brochure collectors' event at Beaulieu National Motor Museum. Bonhams Automobilia are delighted to be offering what has been, hitherto, such a personal and intensely private collection onto the open market for the enjoyment of enthusiasts and collectors alike.
