LARRY BELL (N. 1939) F#25 (série Small Figures) 2008 signé, titré et daté 6/25/08 au revers de l'emboîtage technique mixte de collage sur papier Arches noir dans cadre d'artiste signed, titled and dated 6/25/08 on the reverse of the box mixed media collage on black Arches paper in the artist's frame 121 x 83 x 12.7 cm. 47 5/8 x 47 5/8 x 5 in. Larry Bell has conceived a totally unique and innovative technique: he uses flexible polyester sheets that he coats with metals then melts in a vacuum chamber. The vivid colors that result from the evaporation of material are due to the carefully selected original papers he uses to produce his work. The aggregation of this metallic material on the paper produces a luminous, reflective effect in addition to the superimposed abstract forms. Larry Bell's art is in keeping with the aesthetics developed by the 'Light and Space' movement, by which the viewer is placed at the heart of a powerful, unique sensory experience.
