1971 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow LWB division Chassis no. LRH10255
1971 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow LWB division Chassis no. LRH10255 - Rare extended wheelbase model with privacy division - Luxurious handcrafted interior and timeless British design - Photocopy of build file - Original stamped service book - August 2022 Swiss expertise confirming no defects - British registration document and 13.20 A custom documents Introduced in 1965, the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow (and Bentley T1) represented a complete break with tradition, being the first of the Crewe factory's models to employ unitary construction. All-round independent suspension and power-operated four-wheel disc brakes appeared for the first time on a Rolls-Royce, and production cars boasted a roof line 4' lower than that of the preceding Silver Cloud. The power unit was the well-tried 90-degree V8, introduced on the Silver Cloud II, that would be enlarged to 6,750c in 1970. The long-wheelbase variant (know as the Formal Sedan in the USA) did not appear until 1969, its introduction coinciding with the entire range's standardisation around the Federal Safety Regulations. This Silver Shadow Long Wheelbase with division was ordered new by Appleyards of Harrogate Ltd in October 1970, finished in a striking Garnet exterior with a beige interior. It was delivered new to J.W. Cameron Co. Ltd on 8 March 1971, at the Greenbank offices in Hartlepool, UK. The accompanying history file includes photocopies of its build documentation, detailing its specifications, assembly, and inspection records, along with the Appleyards invoice dated 9 February 1971 and its Warranty Acknowledgment document. The service book, also included, shows that the car was serviced by Appleyards of Harrogate Ltd until 1 July 1976, when the mileage stood at 29,389. The last stamped service was performed on 7 November 1994, at 92,914 miles, by East Cliff Garage, Bentley and Rolls-Royce specialists in Bournemouth, UK. Sold by Ghost Motor Works Ltd, a firm exclusively specialising in Rolls-Royce and Bentley vehicles, and imported into Switzerland in 2021 for its current owner, it underwent significant maintenance at that time by Bahman Cars, with an invoice included in the file. It is also accompanied by several previous MOT test certificates. Offered today with its original V5 registration document and Swiss customs document 13.20 A, the car also comes with an expertise certificate from the Geneva state dated 16 August 2022, confirming no defects, issued when the odometer read 99,390 miles.
