2006 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Chassis no. WDD2211791A066120 - Delivered new in France - Offered with Swiss registration document In 2005 at the Frankfurt Motor Show Mercedes-Benz introduced the fifth generation of its range-topping S-Class. In line with established practice, in time there would be several models available featuring performance enhancements by AMG. Now the official performance division of Mercedes-Benz, AMG has a long history of producing high-performance derivatives of Mercedes' standard production vehicles, and these improved versions enjoy an enthusiastic following world-wide, with prominent figures of the motor sports, entertainment, sport and business communities being counted among aficionados. Unveiled at the 2006 Detroit Motor Show, the S 65 AMG was powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 engine producing a maximum of 612PS (604bhp) and a mighty 1,000Nm (738lb/ft) of torque. Compared with its lesser siblings the S 65 AMG featured larger wheels, brakes and tyres; four exhaust pipes; modified and reprogrammed suspension for more responsive handling; and various changes to the interior. Delivered new in France, this left-hand drive, 5-speed automatic transmission S65 AMG is finished in Obsidian Black with an Exclusive Leather Black/Anthracite interior. In 2023, the car underwent significant servicing following the expertise conducted on the 9th of November, 2023, which revealed issues with engine cleanliness, brake discs, and steering. All the work mentioned in the expertise has been completed, as confirmed by the vendor and detailed in the available invoice. Additionally, it was fitted with four 19-inch AMG 5-spoke wheels. Now showing 305,683 km, the car is offered with a spare key and its original Swiss carte grise (registration document). Buyers' Premium and Charges
Like the vast majority of auctioneers Bonhams charge a Buyer's Premium on the Hammer Price of each Lot purchased and this is subject to VAT. Some lots may also be subject to VAT on the Hammer Price and these lots will be clearly marked with a symbol (†, Ω, *) printed beside the lot number.
For Automobilia the Buyer's Premium is 28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price; 27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,001 up to and including £800,000; 21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,001 up to and including £4,500,000 and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,001.
For Motor Cars and Vehicle Registration Numbers the Buyer's Premium will be 15% on the first £500,000 of the hammer price of each Lot, and 12% on the balance thereafter.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% + VAT of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the standard rate is payable on the Buyers Premium by all Buyers, unless otherwise stated.
