As one might expect, these new S-Class luxury saloons were designed to be world leaders in their market sector and were lavishly equipped in the best Mercedes-Benz tradition. Topping the range was the 6.0-litre V12-powered 600SEL delivering a 0-100km/h time of 6.1 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. Delivered new in March 1994 in Switzerland, this Mercedes-Benz 600 SEL V12 features Azurite Blue Metallic paint paired with an Exclusive Grey Leather interior. Beyond its striking colour combination, it boasts an extensive list of options, including footrests in the rear, auxiliary heater, curtains at rear doors (left and right), electrically adjustable curtain for the rear window, front folding armrest with tray, multi-contour front seats (left and right), orthopaedic backrests for front seats (left and right), electric tilt/slide sunroof in glass version, MB Exquisit radio with traffic news decoder (VK) and RDS (Panasonic), theft warning system for Switzerland, rear air conditioning, heat-insulating glass all around with a heated rear window and band filter, 8-hole light alloy rims, sound system, model refinement options for MY95, seat heaters for all four seats, closing system with infrared remote control, passenger compartment protection (infrared), and an additional trunk lid locking mechanism. It is offered with one spare key, its original cancelled Swiss carte grise (registration document), and an expertise from the Geneva state dated 12 September 2024, when it had 216,386 km, showing no faults. Buyers' Premium and Charges
Like the vast majority of auctioneers Bonhams charge a Buyer's Premium on the Hammer Price of each Lot purchased and this is subject to VAT. Some lots may also be subject to VAT on the Hammer Price and these lots will be clearly marked with a symbol (†, Ω, *) printed beside the lot number.
For Automobilia the Buyer's Premium is 28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price; 27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,001 up to and including £800,000; 21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,001 up to and including £4,500,000 and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,001.
For Motor Cars and Vehicle Registration Numbers the Buyer's Premium will be 15% on the first £500,000 of the hammer price of each Lot, and 12% on the balance thereafter.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% + VAT of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the standard rate is payable on the Buyers Premium by all Buyers, unless otherwise stated.
