STERLÉ: THREE 'FOWER' DIAMOND CLIP BROOCHES Each stylised flower with brilliant-cut diamond pistel and petals of ropetwist, textured design, two brooches signed Sterlé, French assay marks for 18 carat gold, numbered, the big brooch 2.40 x 1.80 cm, the medium brooch 2.10 x 1.50 cm, the small brooch 2.00 x 1.20 cm, gross weight 14.63 grams. After receiving training in a Parisian workshop, Pierre Sterlé established himself as a jeweller at the age of twenty-nine. From 1934 until the end of his career, his creations were met with great success, particularly with emblematic figures of his time; such as the renowned writer Colette, actress Edwige Feuillère, and members of the Egyptian royal family. His genius and original approach to metals led him to develop high end Jewellery pieces with unique styles, such as these three brooches made of knitted gold. They reflect the creator's boundless imagination, as he shapes the metal with intensity to express the beauty of nature. Over the course of thirty-five years, Sterlé became one of the leading creators of luxurious Jewellery, particularly known for his brooches and clips, which are now highly sought after by collectors.
