Some rubbing and wear to boards and extremities, with joint started. Scattered foxing throughout. Provenance: Sarah Foxcroft (1728-1762, daughter of Thomas Foxcroft, minister First Church of Boston); presented to Prudence and Judith Rowe (ink inscription from Sarah Foxcroft). WONDERFUL EARLY BOSTON PROVENANCE. Rare work of early printed American poetry by the late Reverend John Adams, with just a single copy at auction since 1934 according to rarebookhub. Includes poems on religious themes, paraphrases of scripture, translations of Horace, a poem on the death of Cotton Mather, and a complete translation of the Revelation of St. John the Divine.
