An Irish Flintlock Travelling Pistol Of Musket Bore By Clarke, Dublin, Late 18th Century With octagonal sighted barrel engraved 'DUBLIN' along the top flat and with a line of beadwork at the rear, border engraved tang decorated with foliage, flat bevelled lock (cock replaced) signed in capitals, figured full stock (old split on the side-plate) with rounded flat-sided butt, brass trigger-guard with pineapple finial and decorated with a flower-head on the border engraved bow, turned ramrod-pipes, vacant silver escutcheon, and brass-tipped ramrod (barrel and lock with old rust patination) 18.8 cm. barrel Footnotes: The maker is probably Nicholas Clarke recorded in Dublin between 1779 and 1811, the year of his death For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing

Buyers' Premium and Charges

27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
