A Cased Pair Of 50-Bore Percussion Pistols Rifled For Belted Balls By Venables, Oxford, Mid-19th Century With browned damascus twist octagonal barrels each with silver fore-sight and signed in capitals along the top flat, border engraved case-hardened breeches each decorated with a foliate scroll and with gold line and platinum plug, shaped border engraved tangs each with back-sight and decorated with foliate scrollwork, border engraved flat detented case-hardened locks each signed in capitals and decorated with foliate scrolls, hammers en suite and each with engraved safety-catch behind, figured full stocks (some old bruising) each with dark horn fore-end cap and chequered rounded butt, the latter each with case-hardened butt-cap with circular butt-trap cover engraved with a foliate scroll, blued trigger-guards decorated en suite and each with pineapple finial, adjustable set triggers, vacant silver escutcheons, original brass-tipped ramrods, and much original finish: in original lined and fitted mahogany case with some accessories including brass-mounted three-way powder-flask retaining some of its original finish, the interior of the lid with maker's trade label for J. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
