An 18-Bore Percussion Pistol For An Officer Of The 2nd Scinde Irregular Horse Retailed By Garden, 200 Piccadilly, London, Circa 1850 With twist sighted barrel signed in full in capitals along the sighting flat and retaining some original browning along the bottom, foliate scroll engraved breech and tang, the latter with back-sight, border engraved flat lock decorated with foliate scrollwork and engraved 'SCINDE IRREGULAR HORSE', figured full stock with chequered rounded butt (worn), white-metal mounts comprising trigger-guard with pineapple finial and decorated with foliate scrollwork on the bow, lion-mask butt-cap with ring swivel for suspension, vacant white-metal escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons, fore-end cap and rear ramrod-pipe, and stirrup ramrod, Birmingham proof marks 21 cm. barrel Footnotes: Hugh Garden is recorded as 'Army Accoutrement Maker, Sadler etc.' at 200 Piccadilly, London between 1826 and 1851 Cf. another example sold in these Rooms, Antique Arms & Armour..., 29 November 2017, lot 259 For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing

Buyers' Premium and Charges

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
