A Pair Of 20-Bore Flintlock Pistols By Barber & Boaler, Newark, Circa 1815 With browned octagonal barrels each with silver fore-sight and engraved 'NEWARK' along the top flat, the rear of each breech engraved with a band of repeated foliage, border engraved tangs each with back-sight and decorated with foliage, border engraved locks each signed in capitals, plain safety-catches and rollers, figured full stocks (one with minor old split on one side at the muzzle) each with chequered rounded butt, blued steel mounts comprising trigger-guards in the French manner, each with pineapple finial and decorated with a Britannia shield, crossed Herculean clubs and foliage on the border engraved bow, turned ramrod-pipes, original horn-tipped ramrods, one with iron worm, and retaining much of their original finish (some old light surface rust), Tower private proof marks (2) 22 cm. barrels Footnotes: Isaac Barber and Joseph Boaler are recorded in Newark, Nottinghamshire between 1804 and 1816 For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing

Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
